Beijing, April 5 (Xinhua) - The quality of the air in Chinese cities improved in the first two months of the year, according to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE).

For 339 cities monitored by the Ministry, the good-day proportion of air quality stood at 81.9 percent at Jan.-Feb. Period, an increase of 1.5 percentage points year after year, MEE DATAS showed.

The average density of PM2.5, a key indicator of air pollution, fell by 2.1 percent year at year to 47 micrograms per cubic meter, and the average density of PM10 was shrugged 15.4 percent year to 66 micrograms per cubic meter.

In February alone, the proportion of the good day of air quality In these 339 cities reached 91.3 percent, increasing 4.5 percentage points for a previous year.

During the same period, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the neighboring area saw that its part of the days of good air quality increased by 16.4 percentage points at 85.7 percent. The proportion of good quality air quality in Beijing reached 100 percent. EndItem
